Lately my manager has been sending me project summaries and briefs that have clearly been written by AI. Just overly wordy text full of bullet points, em dashes and AI-isms. While I get that it saves time and effort I hate that it takes the humanity out of work. Like I'm not worth communicating with as a human being. Is anyone else noticing AI creeping into everything?

I need to vent. Why oh why do I need to input my CV sections into an online form? I spend hours writing and tailoring my CV only to click apply and be sent to a form where I need to cut and paste all the fields in manually. And it takes. so. long. It's like they design these systems to test our mental fortitude. I'm so tired of it all. Is there a short cut to this? Or I am doomed to cut and paste hours of my life away...

Should I go back to my old employer? A year go I left a job at a company I liked but where there wasn't any career progression. That company recently acquired another one and now my old boss has reached out with an offer for a more senior role. I like my current job, but I do miss the culture of the old place. The salaries are similar. what would you do? Hs anyone gone back to a former workplace who can share their experience?

Hi, I need a reality check. I've been in my current role for 2 years and there's no sign of a promotion or decent raise on the horizon, so naturally I've been thinking about job hopping. BUT. NZ is currently in a jobs crisis or so it seems from reading this forum and seeing strikes etc. Can you share how things are things in your industry - what industry are you in and are things dire? Or is it only certain jobs/industries? Just wondering if it's all doom and gloom.

I left my job end of 2024 due to health reasons. Spent 6 months sorting it out and since been looking for a job. I'm in my early twenties. Yes the market is tough and I've applied for a number of jobs but now it's been suggested to me to do trial work for free to "earn trust". Is that reasonable? Does not having a job for over a year make me less reliable or trustworthy?

Just a little holiday tea ☕ I joined a new company and on the invitation for our EOY party there’s a warning about how poor behaviour won’t be tolerated. I did some digging and found out that every year at least one person gets a warning for inappropriate behaviour and last year it was a quite well-liked manager! It’s wild to me how people can risk their whole career for some free drinks. Have you had anything similar happen at your company?

I'm a 37 year old mum, looking to return to the workforce. I hold a current COA, full driver's license, reliable transport. My passion is working in the Security Industry, but have recently been thinking about my own business, as I am finding it hard to find work that fits within my children's school hours. Am I too old now? Is it too late for me? Any advice and suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hi, plz correct me if I’m wrong but I have been at my job for 4yrs. My trainer was there for 2 yrs and already on $27 an hr. He left the year I started, I’m on less than $27 & everyone at my job earns $30+ .. we didn’t get a pay rise last year to my knowledge. I ask my manager and he brings up stuff when I was in the hospital as if I was faking being sick? But I had medical certificates from the hospital.. should I just start looking for another job cuz it doesn’t really seem honest really? Thx
