A curve ball question here: I have a job that I mostly like, but have been offered to apply for a job through a friend of a friend- problem is I'm not sure if now is a good time to take a risk. What if I get the job and don't like it but get stuck because of how the job market is? The pay is more and the role is similar to what I'm doing now, I'm just unsure and I don't want to regret leaving my current job. What would you do in this situation?

I’m 28 and work in workplace health and safety but I’ve totally hit a wall. I feel stuck and honestly have no clue what I want to do next. SO I have been looking at career coaches (Auckland), but they are waaay too expensive from what I’ve found (around $800 a session!!)

I feel like I royally messed up. I left a job that I wasn't exactly happy at for something that was meant to be a step up and came with better perks and flexibility. I now 3 months in find myself depressed and regretting my choice. I feel like I was lied to and told what I wanted to hear just so I would take the job. With the job market the way it is why would am employer do this. I am now furious job hunting before my mental health gets even worse.

Is anyone else feeling anxious about keeping their job? Maybe I should get off the internet but I keep reading about AI taking jobs and companies laying people off and as someone who lives pay check to pay check I can’t help but feel like I’m one step away from redundancy and moving back with my parents. How are you all dealing with the uncertainty of the job market and the economy in general?
