I am an experienced Teacher Aide, and I have worked for the Ministry Of Education for 30 Yrs, covering many different roles in a school environment. I have been blessed to work with students over the years. I am now 62 this year, and I don’t have very good mobility, I’m a little slow at walking. I manage to get feedback, some interviews, and I have been transparent in my application forms. But still no job.

Applying for a range of roles as looking to pivot, to get little to no feedback of how my application doesn’t suit or how could improve my applications for future when I have ample experience to match most applications is so frustrating. Replying to not successful emails to get the cold shoulder. Any advice? Recruiters, up your game please!

I'm in my late 40s now and want to move from marketing into a more 'meaningful' job, like education or a research-based position. I'm happy to start from entry level in a new field, but I'm worried ageism will make it impossible to get hired. Given I would have to study for a few years, is it realistic to start fresh in my 50s?

Can we talk about career pivots? I'm interested to hear success stories of people changing jobs like I'm about to do. I'm 38 and have spent more than 15 years working at the same place in a minimum wage job, even though I'm now manager. Next year I'm going to start a teaching degree as a mature age student. Would love to hear how a career change like this has gone for others

Hey team, two quick questions. 1. It seems FIFO roles in Australia are getting harder for Kiwis, as travel (e.g. Christchurch–Perth–regional sites) is costly and employers prefer local FIFO/DIDO. Does anyone know companies that still hire Kiwis? 2. Do employers now prefer younger workers over those with multiple degrees, skills, and life experience?

Trying to figure out next steps. My partner and I decided to leave our jobs for various reasons, we have a 15 month old baby and have few expenses. I have the option of relief teaching if i want (not keen,) Not too concerned about money and busy (lots to be done), and i know that the right job will come up for my partner. Thinking itd be good to find something remote/flexible where i work 30 hours a week. Not sure what, bookkeeping? As i enjoy planning, researching, organising and im resourceful
