It's been a long time i am trying to change my career field but due to having no experience, no companies takes any interest and gets an easy response of others are having more experience that's why we can't process your application further. i have started some part time studies just to get some skills and hope to get a job but let's see if that will work. I’ve been an office worker my entire life (now in my late 40s) and I’m tired of it, really just unmotivated to sit at a desk for 8 hours a day, plus I don’t really get any sense of purpose from my job. I want a radical change and to study environmental science and work outdoors/do something that benefits the environment. Does anyone have any advice or personal stories of making this kind of career jump at this age? Were you successful? Any regrets? I need hope...

I’m 23 Ive been doing Cabinet making for 7 years My current employer keeps employing people so our work shop is very overstaffed, and It’s honestly to make pressure for me I thrive in a small company where my work doesn’t go unnoticed, And my pay is matched with pay. I can run CNC and Edge bander with a bit over 1.5 years experience. At this current point in my life I’m not sure what I want to do for the rest of my life I’m not qualified yet should I do it with another company who’ll pay fairly

Can we talk about career pivots? I'm interested to hear success stories of people changing jobs like I'm about to do. I'm 38 and have spent more than 15 years working at the same place in a minimum wage job, even though I'm now manager. Next year I'm going to start a teaching degree as a mature age student. Would love to hear how a career change like this has gone for others

Hi , I have experience In contact centre, child care, Warehousing and elderly care but lord it's so hard to get a job these days. Getting told need more experience, being over qualified. I really want to change careers and go into support worker or community worker. I'm getting nowhere! I'm 48 years old and I've been unemployed for at least 9 months. Security is my profession. I am looking to get out of the security industry and try something different. I've been applying for entry level jobs such as night fill supermarket roles, and I've even applied for work at TWG. All of my applications have been unsuccessful and i am usually sending out 5-6 job applications a month, some may think that it isn't much but it's easier for me to stay on top and manage.

I'm in my early 50s and have experience as a facilitator, administrator, Office Manager/ Operations Manager to ......to where I am now. It's not my ideal job, there's no job satisfaction; it just pays the bills. I'd really like to move into something that would encompass all if not most of the skills and experience I've gained over the years. I guess the fear is being re-employed at my age.... any suggestions on what route to take?
