I’m really confused about the use of AI to write resumes and cover letters. On the one hand, I’m hearing it’s a bad look to prospective employers, and seems like you’ve made minimal effort. But on the other, we’re being told that we need to adopt and embrace the use of AI in our every day. Thoughts?

Start writing: "Grew engagement 34% by spotting audience trends others missed." One is a job description. The other shows how your brain works. Hiring managers don't want people who can follow instructions. They want people who can solve problems they haven't even identified yet.

Keen to get some resume advice - I've had a lot of jobs over 20 years but not always in the job I want to get. Do I need to show all my jobs / experience? I worry that if I have gaps in my career timeline, it might look like I'm hiding something. But I know recruiters will quicly scan a resume so how do I highlight my relevant work history rather than ALL my work history? Keen for advice TIA!
