My cousin recently got a job after months of searching - she was having difficulty securing a role for a few months and I checked in often to try help where I could. Plot twist - the hiring manager was someone who rejected her in the past but kept her profile on hand for - what is now - a future opportunity. Maybe someone needs to hear this today - sometimes "no" just means "not yet" and staying calm, gracious and patient can be a networking moment for a better role.

Hey everyone, I’ve just taken a year off for maternity leave and I’m ready to start applying for roles again. I’m wondering how to best address the employment gap - should I mention it directly in my cover letter or put "maternity leave" on my resume? Or would it be better to leave it off entirely and address it during an interview instead? I’m a bit worried that the gap might affect my chances of hearing back.
