Question about phone call anxiety: how do I sound more confident when I am dying inside? I'm a school leaver so I don't have much work experience and that's affecting my confidence, but mostly I just panic when I have to talk to an interviewer on the phone. I know it sounds stupid, but I hate my voice and how I sound. How do I create a more confident 'phone persona'? I think it's killing my chances at getting a job.

I’m new to this whole job thing, I’m fresh out of high school and I need to job to pay for a student loan. Is it really this bad getting a job? I must have applied to 20+ places by now and haven’t heard back from a single one. Is this normal?

My parents are older and they don't understand how hard it is to get a job right now. They think I'm being too fussy or not applying for enough positions and their lack of support is really starting to hurt my self esteem. How can I convince them that I'm trying and that things are just tough for everyone right now?

I'm new to the corporate workplace and not sure about whether I should eat lunch with my team if they ask? I prefer to just zone out during my break or watch something on my phone, but I don't want to be seen as anti-social. I'm worried doing my own thing will make me seem like not a 'team player'. Does anyone here have a similar team culture where people usually have lunch together - and what do you do if you don't always want to join them?

Im 17 from taranaki and I’m in need of literally ANY job it feels like I’ve applied everywhere i can but i cant gain any experience without someone hiring me. People have been telling me the same thing, keep applying, apply in person, do a course, apply at a fish and chip shop, cleaning or babysitting roles etc. I feel like I’ve tried every last thing and nothing works. Any help?

I’ve just landed my first job – a typical mon-fri office deal– and I have a question about clothes. I basically need to buy work outfits from scratch. The dress code at my workplace is 'smart casual' so not suits and ties. What staples I can buy to rotate through the week so that I don’t wear the same thing every day? I’m male btw. Two pairs of chino's plus three shirts, then do different combos? I only have $300 to spend before my first pay.

Hi all, I am a business student graduating next year who eventually wants to get to director level at a reasonably big or even global company. Question: is it worth applying to smaller companies when I graduate or should I just aim at the top companies from the start? I don't want to 'waste time' in an unserious job or somewhere that doesn't really add to my resume, but I'm not sure if I'm limiting myself too much only going for big companies. Any advice?
