Bit of a quandary here. My team’s going back to the office three days a week, but the role I’ve been eyeing at another company is 100 % remote (same pay band, similar scope). I actually enjoy the buzz of the office but the commute’s brutal and remote would save me two hours a day. For folks who’ve jumped from hybrid to fully remote, did the novelty wear off? What did you miss most about being on site, and how did you stay visible with leadership? Keen to hear pros and cons before I decide.

Work-life balance question: when do u go to the gym? I just got my first 9-6 job and I’ve tried going before work and after work and both times are bad because my gym is so crowded I have to wait for every machine. Does anyone do a lunchtime workout? How do you deal with showering/not being sweaty? I need ideas that don’t involve getting up at 4am.

What change did you make to improve your work-life balance? For me it was quitting my full time job after decades in a corporate job and starting my own freelancing business. I don't have more time at all but I have more flexibility and that changes everything. I'm curious to know what other people are doing to get more balance.

Confession: I used to wear "always available" as a badge of honor. Then my mentor challenged me to completely disconnect after 6pm for two weeks and track my results. The outcome shocked me. Not only did emergencies not multiply, but my morning work quality dramatically improved. What surprised me most was how this boundary actually improved team communication. When people knew I wouldn't be available after hours, they became more proactive about addressing important matters during workdays.
