Furniture and Homewares Design Consultant
At work, a casual employee, X, is processing invoices using other staff logins. Y and I raised concerns—if something goes wrong, we’d be held responsible. I suggested X get their own login or have invoices run under the manager’s name. Manager’s response: - X is mainly for quotes/overflow work. - Use our logins and write their name—it’s “easy to trace.” - Might not get a login since casual, but manager will “explore.” - X used Z’s login before. Seems unsafe and irresponsible. Thoughts?

Id keep a quick record that you raised the concern and asked for separate logins. Covers you if it ever comes back later. It seems a bit dodgy, but some workplaces just dont have the care factor that a lot of us have, until something goes wrong,.

We share logins at work for some systems. But never for something where money's involved. Feels like that could be a risk.

I think it depends on the workplace and what you're doing a bit but I would personally be worried if someone was using my log in to process financial things at work. Good on your for raising your concerns and hope you get it sorted out.
