Do us Kiwis really have good work-life balance? According to this (https://remote.com/resources/research/global-life-work-balance-index) Wellington is number one in the world. I don't think rankings like this are very scientific, but what's your opinion?

As a Grad Software Developer coming from university, I found working in a corporate environment to be soul draining and demotivating.
I resigned after two years, took a break to reset then started job hunting again.
I got a role working for a small local business which was a completely different environment in comparison.
I disagree with that statistic, and I suspect that not enough people question their work/life balance due to the simple importance of having an income and financial security.

Data Science Intern
Well I do now finally. But I’m unemployed. I was working in a hospital, 40 hours a week plus up to 25 hrs/wk rostered overtime, on-call, night shifts and every second weekend. Total nightmare. I sort of knew it was bad because all my time off was spent recovering. But it helped fund IVF at least. It finally worked, I got pregnant, and I finally asked to reduce my hours based on my obstetrician’s medical certificate due to Hyperemesis. They refused. Just finished BCS degree. Son started school.
