Am I expecting too much? Looking for a new job and totally shocked at how low some salaries are compared to the job criteria and experience required. For someone with 8 years of experience (academic coordinator) roles are max. 80k! Considering the COL situation in NZ, how are people living on these wages?

I think some people are just taking what they can get because of how competitive things are. It's not fair, but hopefully it comes with regular pay reviews once you're in the door.

I have looked at similar roles too and the amount of responsibilities vs the salary of 80K is ridiculous. I have gone from a salary of 120K and now feel like I have no choice but to take 80K with hardly any benefits and continue to keep job searching for something that pays my worth.
