Contractor rates.
I applied for a part time job, got an interview, and revealed it's a contractor role. $29 to $35 hourly, listed in the job description, didn't mention contractor. What are everyone's thoughts regarding this contractor rate range? Even at $35 per hour; deducting tax, acc, leave, use of own car (petrol, travel, wear/tear) etc, would leave me with out of pocket and ripped off! Who would agree to work for this amount? They wouldn't negotiate on the rate. I've declined the role.

I think theres pros and cons to it. It might be worth having a quick chat to an accountant on any benefits tax wise. Use of your own car seems a bit rough on that rate, thats a pretty big expense to include 🤔
