I need some advice on how to write a cover letter if you don't have much experience. I've had some casual retail jobs in the past, but nothing corporate and now I'm applying as a graduate for office roles and I just don't know how to sell myself because my experience is kind of irrelevant. Can anyone give any tips on what I should focus on?

There's a different way to write your cv, like "skills based" I think they call it? So instead of like job titles saying retail you name all the skills you've got first and explain them.
That way when they're reading your cv they'll see what you can do and know you're a match instead of focusing on those retail job titles first

For graduate roles they shouldn't be expecting too much experience? Maybe focus on your study, skills and career goals?

You can match the language they use in the ad to stand out a little more. So like if one ad says 'attention to detail' and someone else says "dotting the i's and crossing the t's" you use the same one they have so it connects for them.

I'd try to double down on your skills. Things like communication, time management, customer service if those are things you feel like they're your strong suits.
