Just had a really weird screening call from an in-house HR person. First question she asked is what salary range I'm looking for, second question am I interested in another role they have there in the same team for LESS MONEY.
Wtf?? She sounded unhappy when I said no then said thanks and she'll get back to me about the job I applied for then hung up haha. What is going on out there, is this type of thing normal?

No that does sound more than a bit odd. Funny that she pushed ahead even though she knew it was under your expected range. 🤔
