Marketing Executive & Operation Manager
Another day, same story: applied for a job, had multiple great interviews, was hinted I’m selected - It's been 10 days, no reply despite follow-ups. The company’s well reputed (150+ staff). We deserve at least a yes or no - HRs are paid to communicate. We put effort too. Some employers respond well, others don’t. Don’t get demotivated - keep applying, keep following up. We need jobs, but professionalism should go both ways. I hope this will help you - just my experience from interviews.

I just take the initiative to call and ask directly. that’s what I do, and so far it works! It also shows you care about the update and are genuinely interested in the role. Don’t give up, every step counts toward the right opportunity!

Sorry to hear you haven't heard back and 10 days is a while especially with you following up as well. You are right, professionalism should go both ways. I hope you hear back from them regardless of the outcome, it's common courtesy as you've taken the time to apply, interview and also follow up. I hope you get an opportunity soon, especially after reading your other post as well.

Yeah, no response is very dissapointing. However I tell myself that if a workplace can't be bothered to send an email saying "Sorry but you didn't get the job" then it probably isn't a workplace I would enjoy working at anyway.

Man, I’m right there in the same boat—applied to dozens, can’t even get past the screening half the time. At least you’re landing interviews and getting those ‘you’re selected’ vibes! That silence after follow-ups is maddening though. HR ghosting is the worst. Keep pushing—we both know the right door opens eventually.”

It shouldn't be too much to ask...Especially once you've gone through the interview process and follow ups. Are you still looking at options elsewhere? It shouldn't come to that but it's funny how it becomes a bit more urgent when they know you're in demand.

I completely agree! I’m sorry you haven’t heard back despite your follow-ups. The recruitment process must be considerate of candidates time and energy, especially if multiple interviews have taken place. I find myself in the same situation, I applied for a job back in July and have completed multiple interviews and cognitive assessments. It’s almost a month since my last panel interview and despite my follow-ups, they are still deliberating! You said it best, professional should go both ways.

It’s just a probability game, Ask ai what employers want to hear write it into your own words. E.g what does this employer want to hear in order for me to get hired. Your selling yourself into you are an asset for the company at the end of the day, and they deciding if they think you will make there business better or worse.
