Marketing Executive & Operation Manager
Had a recent interview experience that taught me a lot. First round went great, second was a facility tour + formal chat. I gave my best, but was rejected. Feedback: I seemed nervous and didn’t ask enough questions. Lesson learned interviews aren’t just about good answers, they’re about showing confidence, curiosity, and genuine interest. Always engage and ask relevant questions to leave a stronger impression.
That was my takeaway, and I hope it helps someone preparing for their next interview

Being penalised for being nervous in an interview is a tough ask. Everyone feels a little bit of interview nerves. Unless the job was to be interviewed all the time, that's tough to ask for!

You're lucky to have received a feedback! I was once interviewed and I think it went great since it was followed by an office tour, while the TA was explaining how their operation worked and I made sure to ask questions. Never heard from them after that 🤷♀️

I remember being so nervous that I began stammering, which I never knew I could. But the interviewer mentioned that nervousness only shows that you’re more interested in the role. And I got the role. People find reasons to reject you, if they really want you they’d take you in regardless.

The thing I don't get about interviews is half the time people are great in the interview then once they get to work it's way different to what is said in the interview. So being rejected in the interview for a small reason like "nervousness" just sounds harsh to me. We are coming to work to make income and we have the qualifications and experience so I'm sure that's enough and it shows how much confidence we have in the actual task we are going to be doing EVERYDAY.

I’d say they didn’t want you to start with and made an excuse I’ve been through the same, they said I seemed to confident I was like sorry you want me to be bored or something? Like what

What I did (as I now have a job) was spending a couple of hours writing possible interview questions and answers. Don’t just wing it. It really does pay off.

I understand that they need to see our character and how we are as a person. But if you clearly arent a bad person why would they reject you? Isn't that just unfair because let's say you were nervous what if you could break out of that with the work environment. People need money and rejecting someone for a little reason like that is just plainly dumb.
