Here’s a strategy for job-hunting when the going gets tough: apply for jobs you like where you don’t tick all the boxes.
Especially if:
✅ You have adjacent experience 🤓
✅ You have great people skills 🤝
✅ The job requirements seem a bit flexible 🤸♀️
Here are more reasons to apply for those jobs where you meet ✨most✨ of the criteria: https://www.seek.co.nz/career-advice/article/when-to-apply-for-a-role-even-if-youre-not-a-perfect-match

Can anyone here advise on whether they put their oldest job at the top of their CV or do they apply the most recent job first and then the oldest ends at the bottom? Several people of importance have informed do this no do that or best this way, yes how confusing so I tend to follow my initiative and then check.

Just a note, I have applied for several jobs since 2024 late last year, and have done so much to Update and Tweek my CV and cover letter with using some tools but also making changes where necessary and proof read before sending. I get calls but nothing definite. Certainly will look at other area's and keep my head high when situations seem dim. good luck to those who are searching for a Job.

I have applied for so many jobs (moving from NZ to Australia) and getting zero responses. Not even a 'thank you but no thank you'. When I manage recruitment I ALWAYS respond to the candidate regardless of whether they are short listed or not. These things can be automated so I don't understand why people aren't doing it. Isn't it just common courtesy?
