My cousin recently got a job after months of searching - she was having difficulty securing a role for a few months and I checked in often to try help where I could. Plot twist - the hiring manager was someone who rejected her in the past but kept her profile on hand for - what is now - a future opportunity. Maybe someone needs to hear this today - sometimes "no" just means "not yet" and staying calm, gracious and patient can be a networking moment for a better role.

Kudos to your cousin for staying patient and positive. And props to that hiring manager too for keeping her in mind. Stories like this are a reminder that rejection isn't always the end, sometimes it's just part of the journey toward the right fit.

I've been putting my CV everywhere hiring and that I could work since January 1st 2025, it's August 31st and still have no job. I'm a patient person but this is getting ridiculous.

thanks for this. def a common thing for ppl our age. sometimes it really feels like the moment’s just not gonna happen cos you’ve built up this idea of "how it should be..." but it’s never really like that. life just does its thing, especially with careers and honestly, the redirection’s usually way better.

Congratulations 🎊 to her ..I have a question can she share or outline the right things she put on the application to get the job .. I am a farmer from Nigeria with over 10 years experience, who seek visa sponsorship job as farm hand outdoor jobs in the farm. If she can share the with what exactly she did that she was acceptable.it will help a lot of us

If you are young enough maybe consider 3 years in the NZ armed services. Then stay until you get the civilian job you want….just an idea.

Brother, I belong to Pakistan but currently I am in Cambodia and I want to apply for my visa. What can be done on a dairy farm with a New Zealand work visa?
