I’ve never seen the NZ job market this bad before!! People with real skills and experience are losing their jobs or stuck taking gig work just to pay the bills. Others are applying again and again, doing everything right, and still no replies at all..... We hear the market is getting better, but jobs are disappearing and the people still working are stretched thin. So is this just a hard phase we have to get through or is this the new normal here??

I feel the same . I have applied thousands of jobs still no luck. NZ is getting worst. no employment no career growth . and I dont know why government is not doing anything for this. yet they still can say oh NZ is growing. its nonsense .

Just move to Aussie better pay better life.
I moved over in December do the same job but only work 37.5hours and get $35000 more than in nz as a forklift driver ✌🏽

I reckon, I've applied for over 100 jobs in the past 2 weeks, at least 70% I meet all requirements, and the rest is just out of desperation just for a blimmin job to pay for the essentials.
I remember only 4 years ago all it took was one call to a company/agency and I was offered work the same day/following day. Wtf happened???

It’s honestly so unpredictable- I got made redundant and applied for 3 jobs. 1 I didn’t hear back. 1 I turned down a second interview and the 3rd I was offered the role. I feel extremely fortunate.
