Is it worth applying to job ads that have been up for several days? I see some jobs posted for up to a month - does that mean they haven't had enough suitable applications or do they just leave a job up for a set amount of time? I don't want to apply if there's no chance my resume will be seen. Obviously the best time to apply is straight away, but is it still worth applying to a week old job posting in your experience?

Some places don't even start reviewing CVs until the ad has finished being run.

if its been up for a while there could be a number of reasons, my advice is think positive, chances are they just haven't found a suitable applicant yet. GOOD LUCK!

I’ve found quite often companies will stick with their closing date if it is specified on the job ad. I’d still apply for a job if it’s been open for a week, you never know.
