Self employed
Been unemployed coming up 2 years. Im 55 years old with 35 years experience in architecture as a designer and technical draughting. I’m trying at present to get a house care service business up and running anything from lawns property clean up to architectural services.
I have applied for meany architectural jobs but no luck.

Yikes you'd think 35 years exp would be a huge selling point. Any feedback so far on why you're not having more luck with Architecture ones?

Problem is how you convey your value you have it, it’s just the selling yourself part you don’t have down. You need to say what they wanna hear.

I'd be really strongly chasing for feedback as it's crazy with your qualifications and experience that you haven't got further with the process. I get that it could be seen as age discrimination but honestly as an architect, I'd think 45-60 is considered peak career. It might be worth really closely reviewing your resume, googling yourself, checking your socials etc just to make sure there isn't something there that's coming up as a red flag.
