Christmas leave. anyone else's company forcing them to take leave between xmas and New Year? I didn’t realise this was a thing lol. My company shuts down for 5 days and we all have to all take those days out of annual leave. I’d rather save my days for when I actually want a holiday, which is not when airfares are through the roof. Is this even legal?

The law is there needs to be a mutual agreement on when the leave is taken even if its the employer requesting you take leave. Lets say you said no, and there was some kind of consequence for that (like getting fired or just not being paid) thats where you'd have to take action. It puts you in a position where you have to weigh up if its worth it. 😞
