What's it like to be a Ranger?
A Ranger manages and protects natural areas such as parks, forests, and other conservation areas. They ensure the well-being of wildlife, maintain trails and facilities, and provide information and guidance to visitors. Their work plays a crucial role in the conservation of natural resources and in fostering public understanding and appreciation of nature.Tasks and duties
- Patrolling and monitoring assigned areas to protect wildlife and natural resources, and ensuring visitor compliance with park regulations.
- Performing maintenance tasks such as clearing trails, maintaining facilities, and managing controlled burns.
- Conducting wildlife management activities like tracking animal populations and implementing conservation measures.
- Providing information, guidance, and education to visitors about the natural environment and conservation.
- Responding to emergencies within the park, including fires, medical emergencies, and lost visitors.
- Collaborating with other conservation organisations or government bodies as necessary.
