We collect different types of information about you depending on how you interact with us and use our products and services. We typically collect basic information such as your name, email address (including company name, business and billing address and phone number of a primary contact if you are an Advertiser), Usage and Device Data and Location Data.

Where you are a Candidate setting up a Profile, we may collect information that you choose to include in your Profile (such as uploaded resume(s), your work experience, educational background and qualifications, salary information, profile photo and preferred work locations) and information you verify through SEEK Pass.

Where you are a Candidate applying for a job, in addition to the information in your Profile, we may also collect (on behalf of the Advertiser) additional Personal Information that you include in your resume, cover letter or in response to role requirement questions or selection criteria.

In most cases, we do not need to collect your Sensitive Information when you engage with us. If we have a reason to collect Sensitive Information from you, we will seek your consent and tell you how it will be used. We recommend that you do not include Sensitive Information in your Profile, as any information you choose to make public may become visible on Third Party Platforms and Websites beyond SEEK’s control.

We generally collect your Personal Information directly from you, such as when you register and create an account with us, use any of our products and services (including when you communicate with us) or simply visit our Platforms.

However, we may also collect your Personal Information from another entity within the SEEK Group or via third parties such as our Service Providers and Partners, Advertisers, providers such as Google, Facebook or Apple (if you register and sign in to your account through those providers) or from government or regulatory authorities where required by law.

We typically use your Personal Information to provide you with and to improve our products and services. We also use your Personal Information to send you information regarding our products and services (including to market and promote products and services offered by us and businesses within the SEEK Group).

We also use your information to manage your Profile settings (for example, your chosen visibility level), to enable features such as People Search and to provide verification indicators (for example, via SEEK Pass) where you have completed verification steps.

Without your Personal Information, we may not be able to provide you with all or some of our products or services.

We may share your Personal Information with:

  • any entity or business within the SEEK Group;

  • anyone, including Registered Users and Unregistered Users if you set your Profile visibility to ‘Public’;

  • Third Party Platforms and Websites where you have set your Profile visibility to ‘Public’. In such cases your information may be indexed, cached, processed, aggregated or republished by those independent platforms (for example, search engines or AI‑powered services);

  • Service Providers and Partners who assist us to deliver products and services to you, or to conduct surveys, trials and customer research;

  • governmental authorities or regulatory bodies if we have a legal obligation to do so; and

  • in the event of any merger, acquisition or restructure, with the transferee or successor of any entity within the SEEK Group, or any prospective purchaser of any business or asset within the SEEK Group (together with its relevant advisors).

We may share your Personal Information outside of your Home Location under the following circumstances:

  • where your Personal Information is shared with Advertisers located outside of your Home Location (Advertisers located overseas may have access to your Personal Information via a job application and/or via access to your Profile through Talent Search);

  • where information in a Profile that is set to ‘Public’ may be accessed through Third Party Platforms and Websites operating in countries outside your Home Location;

  • with a Service Provider, Partners, or other third parties in an overseas location for the purposes set out in our Privacy Policy, including any entity or business within the SEEK Group; including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Hong Kong, United States of America, Netherlands, Germany, France, Ireland and India; and

  • where we consider it necessary to comply with any legal or regulatory obligations.

  • you can access or seek correction of your Personal Information;

  • how Users can request for their personal information to be deleted; and

  • how you can complain about our use or handling of your personal information and how we will deal with such a complaint.

This section of the Privacy Policy also contains information on how you can unsubscribe from receiving communications from us, amend your Profile visibility (for Candidates) and make other Personal Information requests (including any privacy complaint).

If you have a Profile that is set to ‘Public’, you may change your visibility setting at any time. However, information that has been indexed or cached by Third Party Platforms and Websites may remain accessible under their independent processes.

You can also view section 18 of our Privacy Policy for further region-specific information that may be relevant to Users in a particular jurisdiction.

We take reasonable steps to ensure the security of our systems and to protect your Personal Information from misuse, interference and loss as well as unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We retain your Personal Information for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected and retained as set out in our Privacy Policy or until such time as you request us to delete your Personal Information, after which we will take reasonable steps to delete your Personal Information (as required under applicable Privacy Laws). While we take steps to protect information within our systems, we cannot control or guarantee deletion of information stored or cached by independent Third Party Platforms and Websites if you have selected a Public visibility setting.
