What's it like to be a People and Culture Adviser?
People and Culture Advisers are Human Resources (HR) professionals responsible for developing policies and strategies that foster a positive work environment, promoting company culture and values. They may undertake tasks such as implementing HR initiatives, liaising with management on workforce planning, and offering advice on matters like equal opportunity employment and conflict resolution. They work in an extensive range of sectors, including private companies, public sector organisations and NGOs. Their ultimate aim is to enhance employee satisfaction and productivity, contributing to the overall success of an organisation.
Tasks and duties
- Developing and implementing Human Resources (HR) policies and procedures within an organisation.
- Supporting the delivery of various HR initiatives.
- Resolving employee relations issues and providing advice on employment law.
- Managing the recruitment process, from drafting job descriptions to conducting interviews and selection processes.
- Liaising with other departments or external agencies to coordinate employee welfare programs.
- Assisting in the development of organisational culture and performance management systems.
- Providing guidance on training and development, succession planning and workforce management.
