What's it like to be a Banking Specialist?
A Banking Specialist typically help their clients manage their finances. They carry out a wide range of financial transactions, such as deposits, withdrawals and loan applications, and provide financial advice based on a customer's specific needs and financial situation. In addition, Banking Specialists explain various banking services and products to customers, such as savings accounts, bonds or mortgages. They generally work in commercial banks, credit unions and online banks. They may also assess customer needs to establish rapport and build relationships with clients to ensure high levels of customer service and satisfaction.
Tasks and duties
- Managing and servicing established client relationships with the aim to improve client satisfaction and banking revenue.
- Evaluating and determining the eligibility of a client for loans or other banking services by analysing their financial information.
- Assisting clients with various banking services, such as setting up bank accounts, transferring funds or applying for loans and insurance.
- Collaborating with other banking departments in order to complete client transactions or handle any issues.
- Conducting financial analyses to identify and understand the financial needs of both existing and prospective clients.
- Monitoring banking and economic trends to offer up-to-date financial advice to clients.
- Addressing, investigating and resolving all types of client complaints to maintain a satisfactory relationship with a bank.
