Profile visibility settings

Your profile visibility setting controls who can search for your profile and what information they have access to, separate from your job applications. This maximises your professional visibility whilst ensuring only signed in employers can access your full profile and contact details.

Your profile, including any verified information, is always sent to employers with your job applications.

FAQ

How do I change my profile visibility setting?

You can update your setting via your profile page or settings.

Who can view my profile?

Depending on the profile visibility setting you choose, your profile can be found by employers and other users searching for candidates on SEEK, as well as off SEEK via search engines like Google.

If your visibility setting is Public, anyone, including users who aren’t signed in to SEEK, can find your profile and see basic profile information, for example your name, location, role title and most recent company. If you verify your identity, anyone can see that it has been verified. Signed in SEEK users will also be able to view extended information like your career history, education and some verified information, but only signed in employers can view your full profile with verified information and contact you.

If your visibility setting is Standard or Limited, only signed in employers can search and view your full profile with verified information and contact you.

For all visibility settings, your profile, including your career history, education, skills, licences & certifications, and verified information will be available to employers as part of your job applications.

What is verified information and who can see it?

You can add trust to your profile by verifying your identity, credentials and documents with SEEK Pass. Once shared with SEEK, verified credentials provide greater confidence and efficiency in employer hiring processes as well as helping you to stand out. You can manage your verifications in SEEK Pass if you no longer want to share them to your profile.

If your visibility setting is Public, anyone can see if your identity has been verified. Signed in SEEK users will be able to see some verified information, but only signed in employers can view detailed verified information.

If your visibility setting is Standard or Limited, only signed in employers can view verified information.

Who can view my resumé?

If your visibility setting is Public or Standard, your default resumé is discoverable by signed in employers proactively searching for candidates.

You can change your default resumé in your profile. If you only have one resumé stored on SEEK, that will automatically appear as your default resumé.

When you apply for a job on SEEK, the resumé you select as part of the application form is sent to the hiring employer, regardless of your profile visibility setting.

Who can contact me?

For employers proactively searching for candidates, how they can contact you depends on your profile visibility setting.

If your visibility is Public or Standard, only signed in employers can contact you via the details contained within your resumé or send you an email via SEEK.

If your profile visibility is Limited, employers can send you an email via SEEK, but not view the information contained within your resumé.

When you apply for a job on SEEK, the employer can contact you using the details you have provided in the application form.
