 The role
We’re looking for a permanent part-time (20-hours a week) event organiser/community builder to champion our annual conferences and location community, kick them up a notch and take them to the next level. You’ll be an enthusiastic self-starter and all-rounder with a “no job is too big or too small” mentality: whether it’s meeting with corporate sponsors, leading a committee and reporting to a board, or printing name tags, liaising with caterers or finding a last-minute replacement microphone. You’ll be doing everything from selecting speakers and booking travel arrangements to digital marketing, social media, sponsorship and budget management.

Core skills
Phew – that’s a really broad range of activities! So ideally, you’ll have a minimum of 5-years’ experience in a similar role preferably within a New Zealand-based business. Excellent numeracy and literacy skills and superior communication skills are a must, as is experience working with senior executives internally and externally. You’ll need to be comfortable getting a grasp of technical concepts and diving right into the location intelligence industry.

You’ll be an outgoing and friendly personality with the confidence to take the role, make it your own and tackle things you haven’t done before with a spirit of adventure. You’ll be great with people and equally as astute at administration. You’ll be highly organised, great at prioritising, a team player and highly adaptable and dependable.  You will operate with a high level of diplomacy, discretion and confidentiality where required and be comfortable talking to a wide range of people. 

We’d prefer our event organiser/community builder to have a background and qualification in marketing and/or communications, but frankly, we’d be just as impressed by a savvy self-starter. If you think you’ve got what it takes, apply! Sweet skills in graphic design/web design and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite will give you an edge.

To be considered for this role you will need to hold a valid New Zealand work visa or New Zealand residency/citizenship. 

This role will close on the 3 February 2020.  An immediate start is preferable but not a deal breaker.
