General Manager

In line with their vision of being the market leader in New Zealand, there is a great opportunity for a strong people leader to take on the newly created General Manager role. A natural leader with proven people management skills, you will pave the way from the front and not be afraid to roll up your sleeves. People and relationships are key to this organisation’s success and we are looking for someone who can lead and grow a business and inspire a high performing team on that journey.

There are no surprises with the responsibilities of the role.    It is a Senior Leadership position, reporting monthly to the board of directors on financial and operational performance, HR, strategic objectives and sales and marketing opportunities. Some of the key things we are looking for someone to be are:

  • Financially astute with proven experience identifying and maximising opportunities
  • A coach, someone who listens and is inclusive before making considered decisions
  • Relationship focused with a strong network
  • Approachable and available with an adaptable style as you will be responsible for 10 direct reports, all at various levels
  • Driven with a strong work ethic

Ideally from a similar industry, you will bring with you a desire to develop a culture of high performance.  You will be engaging, and your direct reports will benefit from your expertise. This is a fast-moving industry, so you need to be agile but deliver on your promises and commitments. You will have the ability to influence and review the strategic objectives and your performance will be measured by the impact you have on your team’s performance and some key financial KPIs.
