Mechanical Project Engineer

The opportunity
This role offers an opportunity to work broadly across a vertically integrated manufacturing business managing a wide variety of projects simultaneously. You will provide full technical support to all manufacturing areas from casting to final assembly and include both plant and manufacturing process
This would be an ideal opportunity for an intermediate to senior level engineer with a background in project engineering ideally gained within a low to medium volume industrial manufacturing environment.
Your role
Your role would primarily be focused on,
  • Design and layout of Plant to facilitate the lean manufacture of existing and new products including development of new manufacturing processes
  • The design/proposal, justification, procurement, installation, commissioning and training for all new Plant and Equipment.
  • The project management of turnkey and in-house CAPEX projects to budgeted costs and agreed timelines.
  • The overall management of building and factory projects to comply with Local Council, Environmental and Safety Body Regulations, Rules, Guidelines and Consents.
  • Financial Management and Administration of Process Engineering Capex Projects and record keeping of all Major Capital Equipment and Building Projects.
  • Chairing and recording for weekly Process Engineering Capex meetings.
About you
To be successful you will require
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Engineering field. This role as it involves in depth understanding of complex processes.
  • 5+ years minimum post qualification experience in medium to heavy Mechanical Product Manufacturing Environment.
  • Good level of competency in Autocad or similar front line CAD packages.
  • Proven track record in Managing Engineering Projects: Construction Projects and Plant and Equipment Projects in the field of Casting, Machining and Assembly are preferred.
  • Can clearly demonstrate success in delivery of Projects to plan and keeping within cost estimates.
  • Ability to manage contractors and achieve high standards of safety.
  • Resilient and able to adopt established Lean manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Experience in Mechanical Plant design and demonstrate innovation in design solutions and ideas.
  • Must possess Good Teamwork Skills and be able to Motivate and Lead from the front.
