Telephone Operator – Call Centre

About the role

We are looking for a Telephone Operator for our busy call centre at Nelson Hospital. This is a diverse role where no two days are the same. This position would appeal to someone who likes a challenge and job satisfaction. Key duties include answering the phone, after-hours reception duties, interacting with the public, dealing with emergency situations, as well as generating and updating doctors' rosters.

As this is a permanent part-time position working 36 hours a fortnight (0.45FTE).

Your shift will be: 11pm - 7am (night shift) every Wednesday and Thursday and every second Saturday.

There will also be the opportunity for you to pick up other shifts covering annual leave and sickness.

Other shifts times are: 7am-3:30pm (morning) and 3pm-11pm(afternoon).

About you

To succeed in this role you will have a bright, friendly and outgoing personality with great interpersonal skills and a strong customer service focus. You will be highly organised and efficient with the ability to multitask and handle pressure.

We expect intermediate computer skills, ideally with PC based switchboard experience, however we will consider applications from those without switchboard experience, where an aptitude for this type of work can be demonstrated, as full training will be given.
