Building Support Officer - Inspections
Tauranga is still in growth mode and building a city takes a great team.
An opportunity has become available working within the Building Control division at Tauranga City Council to help the community build better buildings and support the Building Inspectors.
We are looking for an exceptional Building Support Officer to join our Building Services team. Reporting to the Building Support Supervisor, you will be a pivotal part of the team providing excellent service to internal and external stakeholders. On a daily basis, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of the application lodgements, input into PIM assessments, and support to the Code of Compliance (CCC) process. This is a role where you will be comfortable engaging on the phones with our customers, helping to deliver a professional timely service.
For this role, you will have:
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Attention to detail and a systematic approach to work
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and excellent time management skills
- Ability to provide advice to a wide range of clients relating to a variety of building projects
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality systems or computer database systems
- Customer focus
- A focus on business improvement
Preferably some knowledge of legislation relating to the building industry, and the ability to interpret relevant Building Acts, Codes, Regulations and Acceptance Solutions.
