Senior Executive Officer

This role has been created to provide the Chief Operating Officer (COO) with a highly skilled associate, capable of attending to a broad range of tasks and duties that arise from the ongoing business operations.

The role is new and has been created specifically to reduce the workload on the COO.  The needs of the company may evolve in a manner requiring the key tasks and accountabilities initially outlined below, to materially change over time.

In view of the above characteristic, it has been determined the initial duration of the role shall be for six months.

Specific role requirements:

  • Tertiary qualified (preferable) in a business or the services area.
  • Top priority: commercial awareness, and the ability to meet deadlines with competing priorities.
  • 5+ years experience working in the health, human services or government relations.
  • Experience in writing documents and reports to a high standard of accuracy and preparing detailed business cases with strict attention to detail.
  • PA to the COO - able to work in a dynamic environment to strict deadlines.
  • Able to demonstrate agility and work as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of the health and human services sector and experienced in operations management and people management
  • Proven ability to build and maintain positive, productive and collaborative working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent PC skills and proficient use of Microsoft office suite of products.
  • Highly organised with good time management and organisational skills
  • Previous experience setting, and managing budgets
  • Knowledge of health and safety best practice within the health and human services sector.

Essential personal skills:

  • Leadership skills-  to support the COO in realising the vision for the organisation and share this vision with, and motivating the team.
  • Be a active listener but also a good communicator
  • Good at making decisions and problem solving
  • Able to work independently and with the COO.
  • Able to multi-task
  • Personable and able to put others at ease especially major stakeholders 
  • Professional and resilient at all time
  • Skilled at Business Analyst and Report
  • Experience at Operations Management
