Are you the Support Worker we are looking for? Someone who has experience working in the mental health industry? Are you passionate about supporting people on their recovery journeys? If so, then keep reading.

This position is a full-time role working 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday 8.00am - 4.30pm in our Auckland Mobile Team (Must be available for evening work (up to 8pm) and potentially a weekend shift if required.)
Fixed Term until June 2020.

As a Support Worker you might be kept busy supporting people with developing independent daily living skills, meaningful activities and advocating for people in the community. You might assist people to learn wellness strategies to stay well as well as assisting people to connect with their communities. You’ll need to be prepared to do whatever it takes to support people and help them realise their dreams and potential.

The Team
You’ll be reporting to the Team Coach and joining our Auckland District Health Board Packages of Care Mobile Team. This is a mobile support service that provides support to people in their own homes to help them engage with their communities and remain well. You will be working in a team of Support Workers - all with a common purpose to support people experiencing the effect of mental illness and/or alcohol and drugs in their lives.

We are interested to hear from people who have a caring nature and work in a recovery focused way, you will be able to provide medication support for our people and have impeccable attention to detail.

  • You have initiative- the ability to work independently and manage own caseload.
  • You must hold a current full drivers’ licence
  • You hold a current first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one
  • Applicants must hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent. Alternatively, you will be willing to commence study towards this within six months of starting your employment with Pathways. This needs to be completed within two years of commencement. Pathways offers significant support for support workers to complete this study
