Your Exciting New Role

The primary focus of this exciting role is to achieve maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration within an assigned territory (NZ South Island) and market segment by effectively selling the company's products and related services. You will be responsible for promoting, selling and securing orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach. You will be required to demonstrate products and services to existing and potential customers with the view to provide a consultative approach to assist them in making the best buying decision for their needs.

This is an autonomous role which requires the successful candidate to be self-motivated with a natural inclination towards providing the best buying experience to their valued clients.

The Skills You Bring

To be considered for this role you will need to possess extensive experience in:

  • Developing and maintaining business relationships with current and prospective customers in the assigned territory (NZ South Island) to generate new business for the organisation's products and services;
  • Maintaining effective communication with existing and prospective clients via telephone calls, in-person visits and product presentations;
  • Researching sources for developing prospective customers and to determine their potential needs with the view to create selling opportunities;
  • Creating clear and effective written proposals and quotations for current and prospective customers;
  • Resolving customer concerns and complaints in a professional and effective manner;
  • Liaising with internal department stakeholders to collectively coordinate sales collateral and marketing activities;
  • Undertaking research and reporting activities to analyse the market potential and future opportunities that may exist for not only your current clients, but also within your current market;
  • Planning and organising sales strategies;
  • Creating and reviewing written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitor activities, and potential new products and services yet to enter the market;
  • Daily planning and reporting on customer sales activities including call cycles and client visits; 
  • Keeping abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical service areas;
  • Participating in industry related trade shows and conventions;
  • Utilising the Microsoft suite of packages, in particular, MS Outlook at a competent level.
