Leasing Specialist

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Based in Central Auckland, our client is a reputable organisation with one of the largest commercial property portfolios in Auckland. They are a very experienced and highly regarded team.
ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an intermediate to senior level Leasing Specialist role which will work closely with the Leasing Manager to develop leasing strategies for asset classes and locations, with the goal of optimising leasing returns across the portfolio and delivering against property utilisation and location activation objectives.

This is a contract role starting as soon as possible, for 6 months initially, with possibility to extend.
  
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and deliver against the agreed leasing strategy for properties in the portfolio, identifying and securing appropriate tenants, negotiating terms and minimising vacancy periods.
  • Work closely with portfolio teams to jointly identify and take advantage of opportunities.
  • Provide expert leasing advisory services as required to programme teams and customers.
  • Stay abreast of market trends and environmental changes and ensure the Portfolio teams are able to take advantage of opportunities as they emerge.
  • Balance commercial outcomes and customer needs in alignment with customer and location strategic expectations.
  • Ongoing analysis of the portfolio to identify and maximise short and long-term revenue opportunities.  
  • Work with the portfolio teams to agree leasing and market strategies for properties to deliver against expected outcomes relating to financial returns, property utilisation, location activations.
  • Own and manage key relationships within the property industry including leasing brokers, tenant representatives and landlords.
  
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 
  • 10 years+ experience in Property Management (at least 5 years in Commercial Lease Management)
  • Experience and demonstrable success in negotiation and mediation
  • Experience in the assessment and implementation of property specific asset management plans.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification is preferred.
  • Full clean NZ driver’s license required
  • New Zealand Property Industry experience preferred
  • Knowledge of relevant property legislation including Building Act, Property Law Act, Health and Safety at Work Act
  • Outstanding communication skills – both verbal and written
