Risk Advisor

We are looking for a Risk Advisor to contribute to the success of Tower by liaising with stakeholders to understand the policies and operations of the business and recommend solutions to mitigate risk.

What you'll do day to day:

  • Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders to mitigate issues and risks identified through risk workshops
  • Assist with development of risk policy and strategy framework establishment
  • Executing risk assessments and risk reviews
  • Recommend risk acceptances be approved by relevant approval authority
  • Responsible for risk and fraud incident reporting and recommendations of improvements
  • Activation and coordination of business critical functions to alternative sites
  • Development and testing of business continuity plans, procedures, test scenarios, failover test scenarios and crisis simulation
  • Work alongside IT regarding systems response times in business continuity planning
  • Carry out a fraud maturity/gap analysis and risk assessments with relevant fraud stakeholders
  • Coordination of incoming whistle-blower allegations
  • Assist with the facilitation of relevant training and communications to increase awareness of fraud, business continuity and risk

The skills, knowledge and experience you'll need:

  • An ideal minimum one to three years of risk management experience. We are also open to talented candidates from non-risk backgrounds, particularly those with a legal background, who are interested in making the move into risk management
  • University degree in an accounting/finance/business/law discipline is desirable
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders
  • A analytical mind with great attention to detail and strong database management and excel skills
  • Some knowledge of insurance products, business continuity or fraud frameworks would be beneficial
  • Self-motivated with a continuous improvement focused mind-set
