IT Support Engineer

We are experiencing considerable growth in New Zealand and as a result; we have recently relocated to brand new modern offices in Albany, as we look to increase our product range and expand the team.

Sitting within the IT Support team, this position is responsible for administration of the various IT systems within Henry Schein One, procuring and configuring new IT equipment, on-boarding and off-boarding staff and supporting staff as IT related issues arise. This role covers automation of the administration, monitoring and supporting of infrastructure and services, and their related products and technologies used by Henry Schein One.
  
  
The role:  
  • You’ll act as first and second line support for all IT related issues
  • You’ll work towards the automation of the administration, monitoring and support of infrastructure and services, and manually provide this support for areas that are not automated
  • Provide troubleshooting such as server and connectivity problems along with software performance problems
  • You’ll respond to monitors to resolve issues and problems with infrastructure and services quickly and efficiently
  • Escalate to a third party service when specialist expertise is required, and manages the work of the third party
  • Develop and maintain documentation

  The Requirements:  
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft IT products (Exchange, Office, Active Directory, Server OS, Desktop OS)
  • Excellent knowledge of VMWare products
  • Strong understanding of best practice and industry standard
  • Excellent Verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of core IT infrastructure and systems including but not limited to Active Directory/Group Policy, virtualization, SAN storage, and networking
  • Understanding of optimizing server systems for best performance
