Apprentice Line Mechanic

Connetics is a leading contractor in the electrical distribution industry in New Zealand. We are committed to delivery safety and quality focused contracting services to a wide range of clients nationwide.
Based in Christchurch and with depots in Wellington and Central Otago, we’re responsible for constructing and maintaining overhead and underground lines and equipment across these locations. Although based in our Southern region in Cromwell you may be required to help in our Canterbury or Northern regions for periods of time. Providing such a critical service is no easy task, and we know that to be the best, our people need to be connected, safe, and involved. That makes your satisfaction our top priority.
The role
We are seeking enthusiastic, team-orientated people to join our Apprenticeship Programme to train as Line Mechanics in our new Cromwell Depot. The role will commence in January 2020.
If you are committed to your ongoing learning and professional development, Connetics will support you in succeeding in this career.
Once qualified you will be able to work in the distribution sector of the electrical supply industry as a line mechanic, installing, maintaining and replacing electrical distribution equipment.
Skills and experience:
- Completed a relevant pre trade course – advantageous but not essential
- Goal to receive your National Certificate in Electrical Supply Industry
- ·Highly motivated team player with a positive attitude
- Passion for learning and development
- Aspiration to the be best in your field
- Commitment to completing this apprenticeship
- Current and valid Class 1 drive'rs licence (allowing you to drive a manual vehicle)
- Class 2 - advantageous but not essential
