Our client, the Capital Health Network (CHN), an ACT membership-based organisation with responsibilities across the primary health sector, is seeking to appoint a new CEO to lead the next chapter of its development. CHN is funded by the Australian Government as the ACT Primary Health Network (PHN) with the key objective of increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of medical services for patients, particularly those at risk of poor health outcomes, and improving coordination of patient care.
Located in Canberra, the role is to lead CHN as a pivotal community-centred organisation, reporting to a skill-based Board drawn from the health sector and wider community.
The CEO is responsible for all day to day personnel, procurement and financial management, for delivering program outcomes in accordance with agreements with the Australian and ACT Governments, for making representations on behalf of the CHN to funding authorities, and for liaising with PHNs in surrounding regions and nationally.
To be a strong contender for this role you will have values aligned to the mission and purpose of CHN, with skills to build effective partnerships across the sector and with the healthcare community.
The ideal candidate will have significant executive-level experience in the health sector, preferably in not-for-profits, will have reported to a Board, will have had responsibility for secretariat, governance, financial management and policy development and extensive experience in commissioning and delivering socially focussed programs to disadvantaged groups.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in leading medium sized teams and the ability to attract and retain high quality staff, as well as demonstrated evidence of strategic thinking, good financial management and commercial skills to support transparent and compliant day to day financial, contract management and grant reporting.
The successful candidate will also have demonstrated the ability to initiate and influence relationships with and between key senior stakeholders, and gain credibility with key players in Federal and State Governments, members and other stakeholders with the personal qualities and emotional intelligence to achieve collaboration, facilitation and consensus. Relevant tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded.
