Site HR Advisor

EastPack is the NZ Kiwifruit industry’s leading grower-owned, post- harvest operator with six sites in the Bay of Plenty.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated HR Advisor to lead our site HR Team based in Edgecumbe.

Reporting to the Site Manager, this role will provide best practice advice on HR, Health & Safety and Payroll, with a key focus on recruitment, employee relations and injury management & prevention across a diverse seasonal workforce.

This role is also responsible for managing the site office administration and staff services functions.

You’ll need to be discreet, have a keen eye for detail, and be able to react quickly and confidently to the many challenges of a seasonal business.  Most of all, you will need to be resilient, as this is a busy and varied role where no two days are ever the same!

You will also need to have:

  • At least, 2-3 year;s work experience in a Human Resources or Office Management role.
  • A high level of computer literacy including experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and using payroll/HR programmes.  Experience in monitoring and managing rosters covering a day and night shift would be an advantage.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to handle HR related matters in a discreet and confidential manner.
  • Effective time management and planning skills.
  • Able to work to tight deadlines and make sound decisions when working under pressure.
  • The ability to be flexible with the highs and lows of seasonal work which will involve working extended hours (including weekends) at times
