Technician Assistant, Clinical Engineering

We are looking for a mechanical minded person to assist our Biomedical Engineering department with maintenance and servicing of hospital beds and other mechanical equipment used for patients in the hospital.

Our Clinical Engineering Service (CE) is responsible for management and maintenance of clinical equipment in the hospital and operates from three sites – Auckland City Hospital, Starship Children’s Health and Greenlane Clinical Centre. This is physical role and is based at Auckland City Hospital but will require travel between the three sites using a work vehicle.

About you
As the ideal candidate for this role you will have the following skills and attributes :-

• Have a reasonable level of physical fitness
• Mechanically minded with a basic understanding of electronics and a natural ability to fix things
• Customer focused, friendly with good communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team
• Ability to learn, adapt to and create ways of doing with efficiency which allows for good customer service
• A positive attitude with strong organisational skills
• Basic computer literacy
• Full NZ Driver’s licence
• And ideally you will have experience in mechanical repairs / maintenance within a manufacturing, hospitality or hospital environment but is not essential.
