Support & Infrastructure Specialist

6 month fixed term contract

Our client is a leading provider of airline pilot selection and training for individuals aspiring to become airline pilots. 

Reporting to the Support and Infrastructure Manager UK, you will support every aspect of the corporate IT infrastructure in Hamilton by providing direct customer service to their internal and external customers.

Key responsibilities for the role will include:

  • Supporting the efficient running of the Service Desk (UK)
  • Installation, configuration and administration of all hardware
  • Developing and documenting installation and configuration procedures.
  • Performing daily system monitoring of servers, LAN, WAN and telecommunication systems.

We are looking for someone with strong technical experience in a complex IT business environment including:

  • Administering Microsoft Windows server 2003/2008/2012/2016
  • Microsoft Active Directory
  • Microsoft Exchange 2010/2013/2016/O365
  • TCP/IP, VLAN, LAN, WAN, SAN
  • Firewalls and Switches
  • Server virtualisation, Hyper-v/VMware
  • Backup solutions

To be successful you will demonstrate experience in technical problem solving. You will be able to work independently and have strong communication skills. An understanding of Sarbanes Oxley computer controls and qualifications such as MCSA, MCITP, VCP, and ITIL would be useful, however is not essential.

This is a challenging and dynamic role where everyday will be different. There is a requirement for some “out of hours” work to be completed to support the UK and US shift hours and be available on-call at weekends.
