Environmental Services - Support Officer

  • Fixed term role for 12 months
  • The variety of work will ensure boredom will not be a factor
  • Join the team who are raising the bar for our community

What the job involves

This is a fixed term role of 12 months duration providing cover for parental leave. It is a rare opportunity for an experienced administrator to expand your knowledge into new areas. You will be responsible for providing admin support for alcohol licensing, planning, monitoring and enforcement as well as some personal assistance to our busy Group Manager. From assisting with mail outs, letter and report typing to monthly statistics, road naming applications, street numbering and keeping property records up to date, not only is this role varied but it will also give you exposure into the wider workings of Council.

Who are we looking for?

A motivated individual with a great work ethic, who enjoys working in a diverse team. You'll need to be a confident computer user with the ability to learn our systems quickly, and an outgoing communicator with our team members and customers alike. With your keen eye for detail and willingness to handle anything that comes your way, your organised and self-motivated nature will ensure you stay on top of your busy schedule.

What we can offer you

Working in a friendly and positive work environment, you'll be encouraged to enhance and further your career. You will have the flexibility to plan your work week to take into account any out of office commitments. We're guessing you already know how great the Ashburton District is as a place to live, but if you don't, it's welcoming, has all the big town facilities plus many natural and sporting locations including Mt Hutt and Lake Hood right on your doorstep!
