The opportunity

Due to an internal promotion, our Auckland region needs a new HR Advisor.  With a strong ER focus, the role will see you develop into a trusted advisor who can support our managers with comprehensive yet practical HR advice.  You will also manage all the employment paperwork for the region and there is an element of recruitment thrown in for good measure. We see this as an awesome entry level role, perfect for an experienced HR Coordinator or administrator looking for their next step.  The HR Advisor will report to the Senior HR Advisor. 
 
The very nature of the early childhood education sector means our organisation has responsibility for wellbeing and education of thousands of children everyday.  We are a heavily regulated sector and the HR team needs to be able to negotiate not only the requirements of best practice HR and NZ employment law but also work within the ECE regulations, requirements from the Ministry of Education and Teaching Council. 
 
The ideal person

To thrive, you’ll have a strong interest in growing your employee relations skills and know how to foster relationships that assist you to influence managers to  to make good people and business decisions. Known as a “can do” person, you go the extra mile, are pragmatic in your approach and team work is one of your key strengths. You’ll have solid HR administration experience with excellent attention to detail and be skilled at working to deadlines and quick to learn. This is a dynamic, fast paced role so a someone with a flexible attitude to their work and an ability to roll with the punches is a must.
 
More specifically key competencies sought are:
  • A growing practical experience of NZ employment law
  • A dedication to providing a high quality end to end recruitment process
  • Experience in producing employment paperwork
  • Excellent letter and report writing skills
