Want to make a real difference to water quality and native biodiversity restoration in New Zealand? We’re looking for someone to step up and enthusiastically lead the delivery of fundraising and communications for Million Metres – our national project to support healthy rivers.

The Sustainable Business Network (SBN) is a social enterprise made up of businesses, government agencies and organisations across the country. One of our key projects is Million Metres, which aims to support communities to restore native forest and wetland for healthy rivers. Our goal is to support a million metres of stream restoration by 2026. To do this we help landowners and community groups to create, fundraise for, and deliver their restoration projects. So far we’ve worked with 30 projects up and down the country to restore 54,500 metres of waterway.

This busy, fun and creative role reports to the Project Lead Water and needs to confidently develop and deliver campaigns and communications to support our fundraising goals. We are seeking someone to take the fundraising and communications energy of Million Metres to the next level.

Your responsibilities will be to contribute to the development and delivery of Million Metres’ fundraising strategy, which involves delivering high-quality communications content (both visual and written) across a number of channels (e.g. social, direct email, external media) to engage and grow our audiences.

To do this role well you will have fundraising experience and be proficient in creating both visual and written content. You’ll be all over social media, with creative flair for engaging our audiences.

We are looking for someone for a fixed term position for two years and with an abundance of enthusiasm and a positive attitude, creativity, and the ability to deliver communications to a high standard.

If you’re a team player and passionate about supporting local scale conservation restoration all around New Zealand, and care about the role of business in creating a sustainable future, then we’d like to hear from you!
