Claims Consultant

About the Role:

One of our team has been promoted and so we are searching for a new Claims Consultant to join our team. 

The Claims Consultant is a front line position providing exceptional customer service, solutions and advice to our travel insurance customers who may have experienced situations whilst travelling and are now needing to lodge a travel claim.  In this role you will work with our customers to understand their claim details and provide information, solutions and also determine claim outcomes utilising travel insurance policies.

 

About You:

Here at our Allianz Partners office in Takapuna we are all about helping and assisting our customers in every way we can so for this front line position you will need to have excellent customer service skills and an engaging phone manner to support our customers.

You will be passionate about providing assistance.  You will need to be diplomatic, empathetic and professional to ensure that our customers feel comfortable and confident when talking to you about their policy and requirements.

This role has loads of variety as you will be dealing with a wide range of customers and claims each day.  You will be resilient and able to work under pressure while still providing the great service our customers expect.  We also require our candidates to be agile and flexible as workloads are impacted by seasonal holiday patterns and unforeseen world events, including natural disasters.

 

Your experience may look like this

Whilst previous experience within travel insurance will give you a competitive advantage, it is not essential as training will be provided.  However, you must possess the following skills as a minimum:

  • Experience in processing of Claims
  • Previous experience managing customer enquiries either face to face or perhaps in a busy call centre or customer environment
  • Demonstrated strong inter-personal communication and problem solving skills
  • Intermediate computing skills in MS Word, Excel
  • The ability to multi-task and handle a range of products in a highly regulated environment
  • Be passionate about helping people and finding a solution to their needs
  • Have a demonstrated track record of performance against targets/deadlines/goals/KPI's
  • Experience in assessing medical claims would be well regarded, but not essential for the role.
