We're on the hunt for a Director's Assistant, reporting to the Senior Director's Assistant.

Whether it's working with the producer's to create the on-air programme rundown, ensuring the rundown is technically accurate or inserting and checking graphics and vision, you tend to be the "go to" person because you have the ability to remain calm in live to air situations and when under time pressure.

With excellent general knowledge of news and current affairs, you call upon your excellent time-management and communication skills when working across programme changes and communicating these to the necessary people. You use your high level of accuracy and attention to detail with excellent spelling and grammar when assisting the Studio Director with the live to air programme with the timing of events, calling upcoming items and continuing to work on the rundown as required.

With the ability to work as part of a team in both the newsroom and an on air environment, you'll possess a high level of computer literacy for this role, as well as excellent keyboard proficiency and confidence in learning new technology. You'll have detailed knowledge of the DA role as well as a proven understanding of TV and studio production processes.

Make no mistake this is a busy and varied role you will be required to work rostered shifts, including weekends, on all News and current affairs live and pre-recorded shows.

Here are a few things you need to know about us:

  • At MediaWorks, we recognise that to be the most innovative company, we must also be the most diverse. We are committed to creating an environment where all employees are included, are treated with dignity and respect and are in a position to contribute to our future success.
  • We operate an in house recruitment model and have formal partnerships with Alexander James, Emergent, JobMedia & Michael Page.  We appreciate that you respect our partnerships and refrain from any form of candidate presentation or introduction.
