Serviceperson

We are looking for someone who wants to create a career, starting as a Serviceperson in our Waters Maintenance Team

As a Serviceperson you will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance, construction and emergency response of the city’s water assets.

We are looking for someone who has a positive attitude and is a true team player. By this we mean you’ll happily role your sleeves up and work with your team, not stand there scrolling through your phone to get your Facebook updates or sending snapchats to your mates.

We’ll teach you the tools of the trade, including how to champion health and safety within this industry and provide you with the opportunity to be mentored by experts in their field.

The hours are full-time 40 hours per week, working Monday to Friday, starting 7:30am. There will be an expectation of you to be available for on-call duties when required, including weekends.

You will need to have a NZ Drivers license, ideally a full license, but we will consider a restricted license for the right candidate.

The recruiting range for this role will be  negotiated with the right candidate depending on skills and experience.

Hamilton City Council is committed to being a high-performance organisation with people who think differently, act with integrity, make it happen and work together.

This is your chance to be part of an organisation that is committed to building a more vibrant, attractive and prosperous city.

If this role sounds like it’s for you, we would love to hear from you. Make it happen and apply online today!

All candidates will be notified of the outcome on their application via email. Short-listed candidates may be required to complete an interview process, reference checks, pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol assessments, credit check and a Ministry of Justice or Police vetting check.

For further information, and to submit your application online, head over to our careers website at https://hamilton.careercentre.net.nz/Job

Please note this role is being sourced directly and we are not accepting applications via external recruitment agencies.

Only people who are eligible to work in New Zealand should apply. Evidence will be required.
