Fleet Maintenance Supervisor

  • Lead and supervise staff and contractors
  • Eight days on, six days off roster day shift only

The role

Reporting to the Open Pit Workshop Maintenance Foreman, you will be responsible for supervising maintenance teams on day shift to ensure safe, efficient and effective maintenance is delivered to the open pit mining operations fleet. Critical to the role is the planning of daily workloads to ensure timely execution of planned maintenance, backlog and defect repairs along with accurate recording and reporting of materials and resources in Pronto.

The position is hands-on with a high degree of professionalism and quality workmanship required to ensure cost effective maintenance and repairs are delivered.

The roster pattern is eight days on, six days off and the hours are 5.15am to 5.45pm.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Supervision of day shift crew
  • Sharing of knowledge and role modelling best practice coaching, mentoring, supporting and developing your crew
  • Providing guidance and leadership, to assist in ensuring all crews across the Open Pit Maintenance Workshop follow Company SOPs and relevant legislation
  • Assigning of tasks and giving clear instructions
  • Daily equipment inspections and monitoring equipment to OEM specifications
  • Regular monitoring of Stop and Thinks, and providing timely feedback to crew
  • Investigate incidents, accidents and near-misses when required
  • Repairing breakdowns and general maintenance of the mining fleet, plant, components, and G.E.T
  • Liaising with contractors and other business units across site
  • Reporting and administrative tasks

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Ideally a minimum of five years experience after qualifying in a heavy diesel engineering trade
  • Proven supervisory and leadership skills, with ideally a minimum of two years supervisory in the mining environment
  • Competence using MS Office, Pronto, INX or similar programmes
  • Current certifications such as working at heights, over-head gantry and non-slewing crane, rigging and slinging, forklift and first aid
  • Ideally some experience with ICAM investigations
  • Full, current and clean drivers licence with confidence driving a vehicle over rough terrain.
  • A full, clean and current driving licence is essential, as is confidence driving a manual vehicle. You must be able to pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol testing
