Account Executive

We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Account Executive to work within our Sales Team, to grow our leisure and corporate travel insurance business lines.

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the coordination of account management initiatives and strategies of B2B and B2B2C products. You will be part of a dynamic Auckland based sales team who are dedicated to exceeding their sales objectives and maintaining partner relationships. You will be a vital addition to the sales team working closely with some of our key partners in New Zealand. 

Duties and responsibilities

As the Account Manager you will:

  • Provide product and sales training to our partners
  • Conduct quarterly and yearly reviews with clients in line with company review calendar
  • Maintain relationships through regular contact with clients to ensure satisfaction in product offerings, claims management and support services
  • Undertake, conduct and analyse research relating to B2B and B2B2C clients and customers, with a view to developing and improving service in line with customer and industry needs
  • Monitor and analyse the competitive environment and the services provided by B2B and B2B2C clients and customers and insurance providers, with a view to keeping up to date with recent market developments and offering services in line with the needs of customers
  • Monitor and report on competitor activities regarding compliance and product strategies
  • Escalation of significant issues and ensure all contractual requirements are adhered to
  • Provide leisure and travel insurance quotes to our insurance broker partners
  • Represent Allianz Partners at corporate events

Your skills and experience

You will have a strong background in account management with experience in the travel or insurance industry being an advantage.

You will be motivated to seize opportunities with high energy and enjoy dealing with a variety of different stakeholders. Ideally you will have: 

  • Previous account management experience and demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, strong listening and decision making skills.
  • Demonstrated relationship management skills to grow the value of established clients.
  • Commercial understanding of profitability when negotiating sales contracts.
  • Proven ability to meet and/or exceed sales revenue and profit targets within a business development role.
  • Strong numerical skills.
  • Strong ability to influence and build effective relationships at all levels of the business.
  • Have strong presentation skills and be confident talking in front of large groups.
  • A genuine interest and passion for travel is an advantage, as this is what our partners live and breathe every day.
