Maintenance Engineer - Ellerslie

Company 

Our Client is a major supplier in its category to the construction industry. Sales and production are excelling each year due to management and streamlining of processes. They have a very low staff turn over, and have a "give and take" environment that is respected and appreciated. 

Role 

This role will be trained by and reports to the Factory Manager. Your work will focus on maintenance of joinery machinery, maximising its reliability and uptime through Preventative Maintenance, and strong engagement with the Operators to educate the Use and Care of the Machines. 

Your day will include: 

  • Preventative Maintenance tasks
  • Reacting to breakdowns
  • Liaising with Contractors
  • Monitoring Machinery performance for efficiency and quality
  • Making recommendations for equipment improvements
  • Completing factory improvement projects
  • Building SOP's for machinery operations 

To be successful, you will need the following: 

  • Trade qualified Engineer or similar
  • OR 3+ years with Mechanical breakdowns
  • Electrical skills are preferable yet training can be provided 
  • Maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing - Experience in woodworking/cabinetmaking/joinery would be an advantage 
  • A level of knowledge around PLC/CNC/Automation
  • Diagnostic and fault-finding expertise, where you are experienced in Root Cause Analysis.
  • Ability to relate to all levels and gain the trust and respect
  • IT Literate with excellent communication skills both written & verbal
